International Women’s Day is a time for reflection and connection, and this year we’re honoured to share our founder Kate’s endometriosis journey with full transparency and love - reaching out to all those affected or supporting someone who is.
Empowering women, by women, always.
International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on and celebrate the women who have shaped our lives. While I believe this recognition should be ongoing, it's important to pause and consider the impact these women have had on us.
I am fortunate to come from a legacy of strong, hardworking women who deserve to be celebrated: my grandma, who taught me the importance of resilience and perseverance; my mum, who not only inspired my work ethic but also nurtured my passions, including sewing, from a young age; and finally my two sisters, who are always there for me and each other.
Currently my Endometriosis is at bay after a Laparoscopy back in October 2024 where they removed a lot of it from my uterus.
I am still fighting through IVF and fertility treatments ongoing, and hope to do another frozen embryo transfer in the next few months. We are in very good hands with our fertility specialist and are thinking positive about our chances of conceiving a viable pregnancy very soon!
As a women-founded and led team at KTL, it's incredibly important to me that we provide unwavering support to our team. Reflecting on recent personal experiences, my focus for 2025 is to introduce new policies that prioritise fertility, infertility, miscarriage & endometriosis, implement an offical KTL paid parental leave policy, and enhanced support to help ease the transition back to work after becoming a parent.
I recognise the unique obstacles women face in the workforce and are committed to maintaining a workplace of understanding and support as well as as the significant mental load women often carry, especially as primary caregivers. I want to ensure that as we grow our team, we continue to provide a thoughtful and considerate work environment.
Check in on your friends who are living with endometriosis. The physical and mental toll can be overwhelming, and the support and understanding from friends and family can make a world of difference.
First and foremost, I am truly sorry that you’re going through this, and my heart goes out to you. Please continue to speak openly about your experience - I was overwhelmed by the responses I received after sharing my own story.
It’s clear that this is something that affects so many, and by sharing our experiences, we can help raise awareness and support one another and our friends affected by endo.
